Webinars The template sample page is a central place for managing predefined records for sample details. It helps users set up test details and expected results, enabling the creation of new sample records with all the relevant information already defined in the template.
Sample Template Workflow
New Template
This is the initial stage where the sample template is created.
It includes all predefined details for the specific sample information, such as type, amount, storage location, and date received, e.g.
Active Template
Once the template is created and all necessary information is validated, it moves to the “Active Template” stage.
In this stage, the template is actively used to create new samples.
It ensures that all new samples derived from this template maintain consistent and accurate information.
Retire
After the template has served its purpose and is no longer needed, it moves to the “Retire” stage.
This stage indicates that the template is being phased out and will not be used for future sample creation.
Cancelled
If the template sample is no longer needed or an issue prevents its use, it is moved to the “Cancelled” stage.
This indicates that the template sample will not be used and is effectively terminated from further processing.
Sample Template Set-Up Process
Step 1 - Tests Creation
Creating tests is essential for sample testing and involves using the template object. Each test includes a calculated result based on predefined conditions, ensuring all necessary parameters are met.
When creating a new test, set the template type to 'sample'.

Step 2 - Create a Sample Template Record
Click on the Take a Sample button to initiate the process of creating a new sample template.
Fill in sample template information and select "Template" from the dropdown menu in the Template Category field. This ensures that the new record is treated as a template, which can be used to generate multiple sample records based on this configuration.
Step 3 - Link Tests
Click on the 'Link Tests' button located in the Lab Information tab.
Search for the relevant library template and click on the plus button to link the template.
Step 4 - Specify
Users can determine the specified results for each test.
The expected results specified in this screen are derived from the predefined template test.
