Salesforce Security Update: June 2026 Enforcement

Salesforce is implementing mandatory security changes to protect your data. Please review the two primary updates below and their respective deadlines.

1. MFA for All Users

Impact: All internal users must provide a second factor (MFA) to log in. Username and password alone will no longer be sufficient.

  • Sandbox Enforcement: June 22, 2026 (Staggered for 7 days)
  • Production Enforcement: July 20, 2026 (Staggered for 30 days)

Supported Methods:

  • Mobile: Salesforce Authenticator or TOTP apps (Google/Microsoft Authenticator).
  • Desktop: Desktop-based TOTP authenticators or browser-integrated security.
  • Hardware: Physical security keys.

Important Clarification:

2. Phishing-Resistant MFA Requirement

Next Steps

The “Waive Multi-Factor Authentication for Exempt Users” permission is being retired and will soon become invalid. It means that exemptions are no longer allowed by default. Any necessary exemptions must now be submitted as a formal request directly to Salesforce.

Phishing-resistant MFA is mandatory for System Administrators or users with one of the following permissions: View All Data, Modify All Data, Customize Application, or Apex Author. Compliance requires the use of Biometrics  or a physical Security Key

Simploud Success team will reachout to you, stating which user is impacted in your Simploud instances (sandbox and production).

  • Sandbox Enforcement: June 22, 2026 (Staggered for 7 days)
  • Production Enforcement: July 1, 2026 (Staggered for 30 days)

Supported Methods:

  • Biometrics: Touch ID, or Windows Hello.
  • Security Keys: Physical USB or NFC keys (e.g., YubiKey, Google Titan).
  1.  Your Simploud contact will reach out, notifying about all impacted customers in both sandbox and production.
  2. Enable in Setup: Go to Setup > Identity Verification and ensure “Let users use built-in authenticators” and “Let users use security keys” are enabled.
  3. Every user impacted by the Phising Resistant MFA Requirement can click on his avatar | Settings | Advanced User Details | Built-In Authenticators  and add the relevant authentication method.
  4. Test Early: We recommend enabling these features in your Sandbox now to ensure a smooth transition before the June 22nd deadline.
