Deprecation of Dual-use Certificates
Salesforce is implementing mandatory security changes to protect your data. Please review the two primary updates below and their respective deadlines.
What it is?
Mutual TLS (mTLS) is a two-way digital handshake in which both the browser and the end server verify each other’s identity using digital certificates. Unlike standard website security, where only the server proves its identity, mTLS ensures neither side blindly trusts the other.
What is the change?
The Deadline: June 15th, 2026
The certificates that are used to verify the identity of each side, must be different than the other one and should not come from the same public website trust roots.
Impact on Simploud
Simploud doesn’t use mutual TLS in any of our products or integration. Therefore, there is no impact on Simploud.
Actions Required
Customers may audit their internal integrations with the Dev/IT teams to ensure that if they use mTLS, the certificates come from separate public website trust roots.
